Consultation has concluded
TheAngaston Railway Precinct Masterplan recognises the historic value of the site and opportunities to activate this important community space for events, tourism and recreation.
Key features include an adventure play space, heritage restoration including the railway station building, mountain bike trail and open space development.
In February 2017 Council undertook extensive community consultation. In addition to community and stakeholder engagement, Council hosted pop-ups at the Angaston Town Hall and Angaston Show.
The consultation attracted 22 formal submissions and 31 informal submissions. Council adopted the masterplan, taking into account traffic and land development matters.
In June 2020 Council launched what is now known as Barossa Adventure Station.

Council launches Barossa Adventure Station, which includes a regional-level play space, mountain bike trail and restoration of the railway station building.
June 2021 - Barossa Adventure Station named Parks and Leisure Australia SA/NT Park of the Year
