Consultation has concluded
Council has proposed a new framework for how community and commercial signs on Council land are managed.
Council hopes the new approach will ensure signage erected on Council land doesn’t detract from the character and amenity of the region.
The draft Signage Policy (including the Draft Temporary Community Messaging Signs and Banners Location Guidelines) provides clarity around what signage is appropriate, where it should be located and what approvals are needed, including policies that address commercial advertising and community promotional signage.
The Policy will sit alongside Location Guidelines that identify dedicated areas in townships where temporary community messaging and community event signage can be erected.
The Location Guidelines also place conditions around the size, appearance, maintenance and duration of temporary signage on Council land.
Signage Guidelines approved by Council provide direction on specific examples and consents required.
