Trees in public places play such an important role, contributing to the local environment, enhancing amenity and providing vital canopy and habitat.

We are committed to managing, preserving and enhancing our public trees, ensuring we balance community safety and the ecological benefits of trees.

That's why we've developed a draft Tree Management Policy, which considers all aspects of tree management, from planting to maintenance and removal. It also provides clarity around the criteria we consider when making decisions around tree management, and how we consult with our community.

People can give feedback on the draft Policy in the form below, via email at barossa@barossa.sa.gov.au(External link) or in writing to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 867, Nuriootpa SA 5355.

Consultation closes Thursday, 24 July 2025.
